Akhimullah Anuar scored Malaysia's lone goal in the 34th minute. The victory gave India the lead in the standings with nine points from three successive wins.

As for Karnataka, they prevailed after defeating Baroda by five runs in their quarter-final match. The Mayank Agarwal-led side scored 281, thanks to a century from Devdutt Padikkal (102). In reply, Baroda started off well, riding on Shashwat Rawat's 104 but Karnataka bowlers struck late on, to seal their spot in the semis.
